Our Team

Sarah is a Certified Professional Midwife, having earned her degree at Birthwise Midwifery School in Bridgton, Maine. Prior to returning to Asheville, she worked at a free-standing birth center in Northern California from 2018-2023, providing prenatal, labor, birth, postpartum, and well-person care. She has been on the ABWC team since its beginning.

In her role as Clinical Operations Director, Sarah brings her passion for working toward better integration of midwives into healthcare, normalization of community birth settings, and continued education and training for midwives and birth assistants in skills, safety, evidence-based practice, and compassionate care.

Sarah believes informed and empowered pregnancy and birth are deeply impactful and hold tremendous potential for healing and growth. She has a passion for advancing midwifery and improving outcomes for childbearing people and their babies. In her free time, she loves camping, swimming in lakes and rivers, riding bikes, and exploring the world with her wild and magical daughter.
