Our Team

Melissa has dedicated herself to providing an alternative out of hospital natural birth experience for women. She delivered moms at the WNC Birth Center as a senior staff midwife for five years and at Mission Hospital. She was recently employed by a private ob/gyn group providing full scope midwifery care to a diverse community.

She attended her undergraduate studies at Queens University of Charlotte, NC,  with a Bachelor’s Degree in the Science of Nursing and Spanish. Her Masters of Science degree in Nursing was achieved at Frontiers Nursing University specializing in nurse midwifery.

She believes in the awe-inspiring capacity of the human body. The deep and divine connection between humans who come together to support each other in accomplishing what feels impossible. Melissa says she is a giant nerd who loves science fiction, retro video games, thick books and wide varieties of music.
