Jayne Carpenter
Lactation Consultant | IBCLC, CBS, OBC
Jayne Carpenter serves families in Western North Carolina as a lactation and infant feeding specialist. She works as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and Certified Breast/Bodyfeeding Specialist supporting families and caregivers, other providers, emergency preparedness groups, and communities as a whole. Jayne spends her time as an IBCLC in the in-patient, special care nursery, outpatient, home, birth center, and community settings promoting and protecting safe infant feeding practices.
Jayne has found special interests in perinatal mental health, oral function, and infant/young child feeding in emergencies. Her endless curiosity drives Jayne’s work in the first-food field where she prioritizes non-judgmental, evidence guided, case-sensitive care and believes in deepening our connection through a wide aperture for human experiences.
Jayne has studied with NC State University’s MILK Research and Education Group and pursued trainings with Postpartum Support International, Lactation Education Resources, the Institute for the Advancement of Breastfeeding and Lactation Education, USLCA, and the NCDHHS on her path to becoming an IBCLC.
Jayne lives with her daughter and their cats in Weaverville, NC where they are always playing, no matter the weather.
